ShipIt day, which was first introduced by Atlassian, is a day where you drop your routine work and develop an MVP of an innovative idea. It can be directly related to your company business, but it can also be about developing an idea which captures your imagination or engages your passion.
At the end of the 24 hours you will be required to pitch your idea to your team.
Schedule a full day where we as a team can get together and work on whatever idea/product we choose.
There can be a winner at the end of the day, but it’s not mandatory (we can chat).
Remember, we have 24 hours, so let’s make it count.
Book a conference room or create a Slack channel to host the event. Schedule for that day will start at 9am and end with a demo at 4pm. Make sure to keep your schedule clear.
Have plenty of refreshments, coffee/beer etc. (if virtual, everyone gets lunch!)
Sprint! Remember to support your team members in any way possible.
At the end of the day, we can see who won, and if this new concept adds value to your business.
